Running head: METABOLIC SYNDROME Metabolic Syndrome James Doucette College of Western Idaho Abstract Metabolic syndrome is an emerging diagnosis in the medical field that has effects on patient care. Becoming familiar with it and having it become a common part of patient care will, if used appropriately will increase the lives of those who have become affected with or are at risk of becoming diagnosed with metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome is a constellation of risks factors of metabolic origin that are accompanied by the increased risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. There are five major factors to look for; out of these five a person only needs three to be diagnosis with metabolic†¦show more content†¦The underlying risk factors include obesity, physical inactivity and an atherogenic diet. The major risk factors for cardiovascular disease in this syndrome are smoking, hypertension, increased LDL cholesterol and low HDL cholesterol, aging and a family history of coronary events. The emerging risk factors are increased triglycerides, small L DL particles, insulin resistance, a pro inflammatory and prothrombotic state as well as glucose intolerance. The combination of these factors in one person is a predictor of that person having a future cardiovascular event or the onset of type 2 diabetes (Meigs, 2010). With so many risk factors laying down a set of defined parameters can be daunting. It is no wonder researchers often argue over set guidelines. However with more and more people developing these problems, it is necessary to start somewhere. The World Health Organization (WHO) was the first to attempt to standardize the criteria 1998. WHO published criteria to define the metabolic syndrome in an attempt to harmonize reporting of prevalence through epidemiologic studies. Venezuelan Culture Understanding cultures is essential to people in multiple aspects of their lives, in business, school, their workplace, and even social events. We all come from different cultures, and in order for us to understand and communicate well with one another we have to recognize and appreciate cultural diversity. I was worn and raised in Venezuela, a country located in the northern coast of South America. The United States and Venezuela are both part of the Americas. Both countries may have some western values in common, however, the culture drivers of each country vary significantly. The age group mentioned has less amount of money than other age groups. This group prefers to have clothes with variety of design and in affordable price. The main concern of our group is to get well defined design for them. The company provides products according to their needs. Swagata enabled a logo which is attractive so that it can attract the customers widely. We provide clothing of variety brands with seasonal offers and discounts so that the customer of this group gets attracted. The group is one which is the most influential group. It helps to influence other groups of same age. They prefer variety of design than quality. Swagata cater the needs of them through emerging with products according to their choice (Al-Debei et al. 2015). People with the age group of 30-50: Th e people of this group are the core group for the success of Swagata. Though, the group is harder to pull into the attractiveness of the website. The key findings of this group are quality along with attractiveness and website. The main concern of this group is to get quality product. This group has a good purchasing power. The group wants to assure that they get products which deliver the way the customers wants to. They give preference over quality and comfort more than any other thing. The group also wants to have product which is hassle-free and as well as speedy (Yeoh et al. 2014). Marketing Swagata makes a simple marketing strategy for its products. Swagata made the pricing strategy keeping in mind of various target market of there. We have customers who want quality and other wants design and there is another type who wants both. The pricing strategy has made according to the, People who consider both designs and quality pricing strategy has made as their products are much costlier than other two groups. Swagata made a strategy on price so that it cater the needs all groups. We have high priced products of international brands and along with that with the top designers. The promotional activities help the company to boost it sales. Our company is new in the market so it needs to adopt promotional activities to customers get knowledge about the product. The main target customers belong to two groups as been discussed. In one group the customers are mostly teenagers or students. They are mostly familiar with the social networking sites.
