The Cultural Diversity Of Venezuela s National Culture
Venezuelan Culture Understanding cultures is essential to people in multiple aspects of their lives, in business, school, their workplace, and even social events. We all come from different cultures, and in order for us to understand and communicate well with one another we have to recognize and appreciate cultural diversity. I was worn and raised in Venezuela, a country located in the northern coast of South America. The United States and Venezuela are both part of the Americas. Both countries may have some western values in common, however, the culture drivers of each country vary significantly. This paper will focus on understanding Venezuelaââ¬â¢s national culture and its most important dimensions. Venezuelaââ¬â¢s National Culture Venezuelaââ¬â¢s national culture, according to The Hofstede Centre, is high in power distance, collectivist, performance-oriented, normative, and it tries to avoid ambiguity (What about Venezuela?, n.d.). In addition, Venezuela has the maximum score in the indulgence dimension as shown in Figure 1. Venezuelaââ¬â¢s score of its cultural dimensions explains and facilitates, to some extent, the necessary information for an individual to become familiar with and understand the Venezuelan culture.
